The Academic and Examination Board

The Academic and Examination Board of OSAC International College was established on 7 June 2010 and is responsible for overseeing the College's academic affairs, including the maintenance of high standards in teaching and research. The Academic Board comprises the Vice-Principal, Mr. Jason Ng, Dr Corwyn Low and Dr Ashutosh. The Board represents an independent body to develop and oversee the academic standards and approves courses and teachers for our programmes. In the addition, the Examination Board also approves the exam papers and assignments, as well as the examination results.

 

Roles and Functions of the Board

  • Develop and ensure high standard of academic quality of every course.
  • Approval of teachers' deployment.
  • An accountable and transparent framework for:

 

  • Implementation and review of policy on all academic matters;
  • Development and review of academic quality assurance measures;
  • Facilitating compliance with its policies and procedures.

The Examinations Board develops examinations and assessment procedures such as:


    • Security of examination and answer scripts;
    • Conduct of examinations;
    • Duties and responsibilities of the invigilators and markers;
    • Moderation of marks; and
    • Appeals for students when reviewing examination scripts.

Under the Private Education Act, managers of a private education institution are directors of the company if the private education institution is a registered company, or members of the management committee if the private education institution is a registered society. OSAC International College which is a registered Private Education Institution, the directors will be the managers of the school.

 

Dr Corwyn Low has a Ph.D in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois. He also hold a M. Sc in Aerospace Engineering, Boston University, Boston, Massachusetts, USA and a B. Sc in Bio-Medical Engineering, Boston University, Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Dr Low is an academician who has been researcher and mentor for many students in big institutions including Singapore Institute of Management, PSB Academy and SMa (School of Management) 

Dr Ashutosh has MBBS (medical degree) with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. He has in-depth knowledge of skills and abilities in health system administration and has deep knowledge of the current theories and practices in community health.

He has been very proactive in the field of private education for many years and has been making forefront in coming out with new initiatives in the area of private education. He is familiar with the operations of the private education and makes time to talk to students regarding how to improve the services given to students.

 

Prior to joining OSAC International College, Mr Jason Ng was the Subject Head of Raffles Girls’ School (Sec), one of the premier girls schools in Singapore. He was teaching in the school for 6 years under the Integrated Programme (IP).

He has a B.Eng (Hons) from NUS, GDBA from SIM, PGDE and M.Ed from NIE. His interest is in providing quality education to students so that they are able to learn more effectively. His strength is in developing curriculum and imparting teaching pedagogy to the teachers. Familiar with the internal quality control systems in the school setting, as he also worked in the Institute of Technical Education before.

Mr Jason Ng is currently the Vice-Principal of OSAC International College.
